A few years ago I went over to Thailand to learn Muay Thai and get fit.
It was the best thing I ever did, and have been going back ever since for a few months at a time. Whilst learning a martial art will help you in the fitness department, it has many other benefits too.
Mentally you become stronger. You learn to concentrate a lot more. And your self-confidence levels rise a lot!
2. Rock Climbing
If you live in or around an area with amazing mountains, then this hobby might be for you!
Not sure if you have seen the film Free Solo yet or not, but after watching that I don’t think I could ever stomach those sort of heights.
But rock climbing is definitely a hobby which will benefit your health.
I know a few guys who do it, and it becomes a complete obsession.
3. Chess
One of the most famous board games around, Chess is a game that requires strategy, planning and decision making.
It’s a fun game and you can continue improving your skills at it.
One can take a lot of parallels between chess and real life, which is why it is such a global sensation.
Chess boards can be picked up for super cheap, so it’s definitely a hobby I recommend!
4. Brew Your Own Beer
I remember as a kid my dad had a home brewing kit and used it a few times. It seemed really cool!

But I recently met some people who journal on a daily basis, and they all say it has been so good for them mentally.

My parents started doing this a few years ago, and it turned out to be really legit!

Going along with the cooking, hiking, and camping you left out hunting (be it big game, small game, or foul) and fishing. It's amazing to see where and be responsible for your food from the beginning of the process to the consumption.
