In this article we will be looking solely at the balding statistics of men that lose their hair and go bald, and what chances you have of losing your hair.
Well, let’s start off by telling you that you are not alone in this balding and hair loss journey.
More than 35% of men will experience some sort of male pattern baldness at some point in their life, and a receding hairline is one of the most common cases and starting points for men who experience hair loss and balding.
When you notice that your hair is starting to disappear, it can be a very shitty feeling.
We know it and we get it!
Fear often overtakes you, and you are left wondering how you are going to be able to even be attractive at all without your full head of hair.
But stress no more, because in this article I am going to show you some stats on how you are not alone in this journey and that hair loss (solely based on statistics) is very common.
Actually, it is a lot more common than you think!
Before we jump into the balding statistics of the world, let’s take a quick look at some causes of hair loss.
What Causes Baldness In Men?
The vast majority of men who go bald do so because of a hereditary condition known as male pattern baldness.
Although male pattern baldness is the leading cause of balding, it isn’t the only condition that can trigger hair loss.
The following conditions can cause varying degrees of hair loss.
Some types of hair loss may be permanent, while others may be reversible.
#1. Various Medications
Hair loss from taking various drugs and medications are usually temporary, and can be reversed once the treatment as stopped.
Drugs and medications such as chemotherapy, antidepressants and blood pressure pills can cause hair loss.
#2. Alopecia Areata
This condition causes your body’s immune system to mistakenly attack healthy hair follicles, which leads to hair loss in various different parts of your body.
It is quite common amongst both men and women.
#3. Nutritional Deficiency
Protein, vitamin D, as well as adequate intake of other vitamins from your diet are also important to maintain healthy hair.
A deficiency in one or more of these nutrients may cause you to lose more hair than normal.
As you can see, the causes of hair loss are either through medications and nutritional deficiency.
Or you are just the unlucky one and the hair loss gene has decided to take over!

We tend to only look at situations and events the way we want to look at them, and sometimes look past the cold hard facts.
The statistics don’t lie when it comes hair loss and balding.
Genetics don’t paint a pretty picture for most men either.
The combination of these hair loss statistics and genetics should never be overlooked.
These are just the hard facts that most men should know or be told when they start losing their hair so that they can come to terms with it earlier and deal with the hard facts.
Once you understand the facts and statistics, you can move on and make a change that will be for the better!
On this note, let’s get to some hard facts!
According to the American Hair Loss Association, the recent statistics are as follows:
- Approximately 25 percent of men who have hereditary male pattern baldness start losing their hair before the age of 21.
- By the age of 35, approximately 66 percent of men will have experienced some degree of hair loss.
- By the age of 50, approximately 85 percent of men will have significantly thinner hair.
To make these statistics easier to understand, if there were 10 men in a room, more than 8 of them would be suffering hair loss and balding by the age of 50 years.
To put it bluntly, these aren’t great odds at all.
You can either look at these odds and start feeling very sorry for yourself or you should realise that you are not alone in this boat, and this happens to a lot more men than you can think or know of.
If I was you, I would choose to look at things in the latter way.
Stop feeling sorry for yourself.
Accept your fate, move on and embrace your baldness!
How Should You Approach Hair Loss?
My number one piece of advice which I give to every single balding guy is this: shave it off right away!
It sounds a bit extreme, and probably is extreme.
But ask any guy with a 100% shaved head and he’ll tell you how it’s been the best thing he ever did, and how he wished he did it sooner.
Not only will you feel completely free and liberated, but your quality of life will actually be better than before.
Yes, that’s correct.
You will live a better life!
Why Should You Shave Your Head Right Now Then?
As I said before, if you see that you are slowly going bald, then it’s best to just get rid of your remaining hair now already.
Below are four reasons why I think every balding guy should shave his head!
#1: Silence Them
By taking the plunge and razoring your head, your mates literally cannot ever say anything about you going bald anymore.
Why is this?
Because by shaving your head you immediately own the look, get rid of any bald spots, and it takes away any power your family and friends might have!
#2: Reinvent Yourself Faster & Better
When you take the next step and shave your head, you immediately sport a brand new look.
A new identity almost.
So the sooner you do this, the sooner you can work on your new look and own it.
Within weeks, people would have completely forgotten that you ever had any hair on your head!
#3: It Gets Harder The Longer You Wait
As time goes by and you keep putting off going full on bald, it will become more and more difficult to make the tough decision of shaving your head.
#4: Take Action Early
It took me 8 years to take action.
I wish I had done this earlier!
If you can see a little bit of baldness coming your way, then chances are most people can’t even see that just yet. We tend to always notice things on our bodies before anyone else.
So by shaving your head early on, people might not even know that you ever were bald. And slowly everyone will just know you as the shaved head guy.
So if you are ready to take the plunge, then check out this guide on how to shave your head!
Statistics are there to guide and help us make better decisions in life. And these balding statistics no different when it comes to hair loss.
Use these numbers to your advantage and know that you are not alone in your balding journey.
The cold hard facts are there to assist and guide you.
To put it bluntly, your hair isn’t going to grow back! My advice simple: It’s time to shave it off!
