In this article we are going to discuss our effective daily skincare routine for bald men, and why it’s important to get into the habit of taking care of your most prized asset – your bald head!
The term ‘prevention is better than cure’ is most certainly very applicable to having a good skincare routine in place, especially if you have a shaved head.
By reading this article I assume you interested in taking care of yourself, especially your bald head and face.
When taking the plunge and shaving your head, you have indirectly acquired an additional responsibilty to take care of your bald head.
You may be thinking, what do we mean by acquring an added responsibilty?
You need to start looking after your newly bald head, otherwise you are going to pay for it in the long run.
All of a sudden your bare skin is exposed to sunlight, to the cold. to all the bad things that roam the air.
It can feel irritated, it can get dry and it can become oily and dirty.
So it’s important to understand that you can take really good care of your bald head by just following three or four simple steps.
Skincare Routine For Bald Men
When I first shaved my head and early on in my balding journey, I never ever thought about using a moisturizer on my bald head.
Let alone doing anything else but shave it every 2 or 3 days.
But I learnt the hard way, and quickly realized that I had to start taking better care of my scalp.
Otherwise it will end up becoming extremely unhealthy and just looking aged!
Let me give you some important facts: When you shave your head (whether it’s everyday or every 2-3 days), your bald head will become exposed to more pollutants, air borne toxins, allergens and even weather elements such as extreme heat and extreme cold.
It’s basically as if your shaved head sponges up all toxins and pollutants on a regular basis.
So being exposed to these elements above will cause dryness, irritations and other skin related problems to your bald head.
How can you combat this?
Make sure you follow the correct skincare routine for bald men by always having two or three skincare items in your home.
The Bald Head Skincare Routine
Below is a basic routine which we follow every week.
Try and do the same!
Firstly, a good moisturizer
If you never had a facial or bald head skincare routine, then getting started can seem like a chore at first.
Obviously the first thing you need to do is to buy a good moisturizer.
A good moisturizer that contains various extracts and oils will provide a well rounded product for you to use on a daily basis.
And you actually need to remember to use it everyday.
I know this sounds obvious but how many times have you purchased a product, used it once or twice and then it gathers dust in the house?
We suggest you keep your moisturizer in your bathroom together with all your other toiletries, so you use it every morning after your head shave and shower.
Once you start using a moisturizer on a daily basis, you won’t be able to go without it!
We sometimes even use our flagship moisturizer twice a day, depending on how dry our skin feels.

Also remember to exfoliate
Even if we cannot feel or see it, our skin builds up various particles and dead skin cells over time.
These need to be washed away, and there’s no better way to do this than by using a mild exfoliate.
We recommend only exfoliating your face and scalp a maximum of three times a week. Too many times can cause damage to your skin.
But if you aren’t exfoliating your scalp and face, then you really need to start!
You can even use an exfoliate as a pre shave, as this preps the scalp real nicely for a clean and smooth shave.
Use SPF, even in winter
I have experienced a sunburnt scalp once, and never want to go through that again.
Sun damage to your skin is lasting, and if you aren’t careful, you’ll end up with a really old looking scalp before you know it.
Always have a sunscreen of some sort around.
Even in winter.
Get in the habit of applying it on top of your moisturizer whenever you head outside.
And do not forget to wash
Believe it or not, but we do still have to wash our heads. Even though there’s no hair left.
But the good news is that it is a whole lot easier to wash a bare scalp than to wash a full head of hair.
Just make sure you get yourself a good quality, all natural shampoo or bar of soap.
The last thing you want to do is wash your head with some shitty chemicals. And so many generic shampoos contain these!
Why It’s Important To Have A Skincare Routine
The obvious and most important reason why having a skincare routine is vital is that it protects and nourishes your scalp and facial skin.
But for us personally a really good reason to get into a facial and scalp skincare routine is to fast forward your reason for owning and bossing your bald head.
A good & healthy routine most certainly does this.
it gives you a reason to own your new identity and to look and take care of yourself.
A bald shaved head on its own looks great, but once a bit of moisturizer has been added, it looks awesome!
