As a bald man myself, I can definitely give some well needed tips to any young men who have started experiencing baldness, no matter how visible or not.
Looking back, there are certainly a few things I would have done differently.
But hey, that’s life!
You live and you learn.
In this post I have put together my top 5 ways on how to look good bald, be confident, and own your look 100%.
Whether you have already taken the plunge and started shaving your head, or you know the inevitable is on the way, these tips will be relevant to you!
1. Shave It Off Already
This might sound obvious, but lots of men hang onto those last pieces of hair until the very end.
Looking back at my own experience (and every other bald guy will tell you the same) I should have just razored my head from the first moment I realized I was going bald.
The truth is, if you start losing your hair, then eventually you will have to shave it all off.
That’s just a fact.
So why wait and wait and wait when you could just get going with your new look right away?
By owning your new, skinhead look, you will really be making your life a whole lot easier in the long run.
Let me give you some quick and easy examples of how it’s super beneficial to just shave your head at the first sign of baldness.
#1: No One Can Say Shit Anymore
By taking the plunge and razoring your head, your mates literally cannot ever say anything about you going bald anymore.
Why is this?
Because by shaving your head you immediately own the look, get rid of any bald spots, and people can’t actually make fun of you anymore.
#2: You Can Reinvent Yourself Quicker
When you take the plunge and shave your head, you immediately sport a brand new look. A new identity almost.
So the sooner you do this, the sooner you can work on your new look and own it. Within weeks, people would have completely forgotten that you ever had any hair on your head!
#3: The Longer You Wait, The Harder It Might Get
As time goes by and you keep putting off going full on bald, it will become more and more difficult to make the tough decision of shaving your head.
#4: It’s Less Noticeable Early On
If you can see a little bit of baldness coming your way, then chances are most can’t even see that just yet.
So by shaving your head early on people might not even know that you ever were bald, and slowly everyone will just know you as the shaved head guy.
2. Get Fit Fast
Want to know the best and easiest way to look good bald?
Get fit and in shape!
It’s no secret that having a shaven head is often seen in the same light as being a fit, tough guy.
Thanks to many films always portraying bald guys as hard men, prisons having inmates shave their heads and the same happening in most military organizations, we bald men can live on the assumption that many will find us to look tough.
But this isn’t going to be as true if you don’t fit the bill.
And you can do that by getting in shape fast!
My brother and I both live for fitness.
We feel every man owes it to himself to look after his body for his entire life.
So if you are on your way to becoming a bald man, make sure to be a bald and fit man.
Trust me, you’ll look better than ever.

3. Grow The Beard You Always Wanted
Beards and bald heads seem to go hand in hand.
By growing out a beard, you immediately give your face a bit of balance.
A shaven head AND a shaven face might just make your face look like a bit of an egg, so having a beard gives it a really good look.
Now not all men have the ability to grow full beards.
If I grow out my facial hair for a month, it ends up looking like a patchy mess.
But grow it out just enough to make it visible that you have some facial hair. Then you can just continue trimming it.
It looks a lot better than a cleanly shaven face.
And if you are one of the gifted men that can rock a proper, full on lumberjack beard, then go for it!

4. Look After Your Head
There are a few things you got to remember the minute you take the plunge into becoming a bald legend.
Firstly, your naked head will now be exposed to direct sunlight pretty much all year round!
So you need to make sure you keep some sunscreen applied to your scalp at all times.
Get in the daily routine of putting some on every morning, or wear a cap. As long as your scalp is protected.
The last thing you want is some sort of illness coming your way as a result of neglecting protecting your head.
And secondly, the skin on your head can be very sensitive. Especially when you first start shaving it.
So you need to apply some sort of moisturizer.
If you can find one, then get a moisturizer that already has a SPF integrated into it. That way you can get your head protected from sunlight and moisturized all at once!
5. Develop A New Mindset
Don’t shy away from your new look.
Rather embrace it and become the newly bald boss that people immediately notice.
By being confident in your new look, other people around you will see that immediately, and you might even gain more respect than before.
Feel good about your new style, and all will fall into place.
If you are on the edge of baldness, already show signs of baldness or are pretty much there already, do not worry.
You can rebrand yourself to become a proper badass bald guy.
Just wrap your head around the fact that it’s what’s going to happen, and embrace it 100%.
So to summarize on how to look good bald:
- Shave it off completely when you see you are losing hair
- Get fit, get in shape, and you’ll get that tough guy look
- If possible, grow a beard
- Look after the skin on your head
- Adjust your mindset, get confident and you’ll seem a different man in other people’s eyes
Enjoy the new bald look!
