The title of this article might be a bit confusing to you, but you’ll see in a few moments what I mean.

If you are one of the many millions of men around the world currently experiencing any signs of male pattern baldness, then you should know that you are not alone.

It’s perfectly normal, and something which really doesn’t have to be a big negative in your life.

Personally, I knew of my baldness for about 6 years before deciding the take the plunge and get rid of all that remained.

It was the best feeling ever, but it took years of back and forth conversation with myself to finally man up and just do it.

A few things start to happen in your life when you start shaving your head, and below I am going to lay them down for you.

I’ve used balding as an excuse to improve my life in a number of ways, and you too can do the same.

For me, embracing baldness and razoring my head every second day has actually made my life better.

I think I could break it down into two categories.

Firstly, the mental health benefits of embracing my baldness and the fact that it’s something I don’t have to stress about anymore.

And secondly, I used it as motivation to get in shape fast. And still do!

From what I remember, when you start balding and noticing that your hair is already thinning, your mind starts to go a bit nuts.

It’s pretty normal, and actually understandable.

No guy wants to lose his hair.

For so long we often think that our hair directly impact our looks, and without it we would come across as a lot less attractive.

This then leads to a massive drop in self confidence, and you can start to think less of yourself.

It’s a shitty path to go down, but one that most balding guys will experience at some point.

So how will shaving your head impact your state of mind in a positive way?

There are a few positives that come from shaving your head, especially if you are a balding guy.

Below are 4 ways in which embracing my baldness and shaving my head have impacted my mental state in a positive way!

#1: No One Can Say Shit Anymore

By taking the plunge and razoring your head, your mates literally cannot ever say anything about you going bald anymore.

Why is this?

Because by shaving your head you immediately own the look, get rid of any bald spots, and it takes away any power your mates have!

#2: You Can Reinvent Yourself Quicker

When you take the next step and shave your head, you immediately sport a brand new look.

A new identity almost.

So the sooner you do this, the sooner you can work on your new look and own it.

Within weeks, people would have completely forgotten that you ever had any hair on your head!

#3: The Longer You Wait, The Harder It Might Get

As time goes by and you keep putting off going full on bald, it will become more and more difficult to make the tough decision of shaving your head.

#4: It’s Less Noticeable Early On

If you can see a little bit of baldness coming your way, then chances are most people can’t even see that just yet. We tend to always notice things on our bodies before anyone else.

So by shaving your head early on, people might not even know that you ever were bald. And slowly everyone will just know you as the shaved head guy.

Growing up I always used to associate guys who had shaved heads and who were in good shape as being totally badass.

I think this comes from watching many Hollywood action movies where the guy doing all the ass kicking usually looks this way.

Think Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, The Rock!

Bald dudes, in crazy shape, and knocking everyone out.

It’s no secret that if you are 100% bald but have a decent figure, you’ll look a lot better.

The two seem to go together very well. A lot more so than having long hair, for example.

So for this reason I decided I MUST get in good shape, and keep it this way.

You can actually use the fact that you are going bald as the number 1 motivator to start getting in shape.

It’s so true, and it can actually be the biggest positive thing about going bald in the long term.

1. Know Why You Want To Get Fit

Ask yourself why you want to get fit.

Chances are you are considering shaving your head or have already done so, so you want to look and feel at your absolute best.

If you feel good about your new bald head and body, then you will act more confidently too.

2. Make Time For Working Out

Anyone who says that they don’t have time to get fit is full if shit.

Health should be such an important part of all of our daily lives, so you can’t ever say you don’t have time.

Make time to workout everyday.

Even if that means waking up 30 minutes earlier.

Trust me, in the long run it’s all worth it.

3. Have Workouts Ready To Go

We love doing bodyweight workouts which we can get done at home, in the park or at the beach.

It’s just so much easier than having to go to the gym, plus it costs you nothing.

The beauty about getting in shape is you really don’t even need that many exercises to get started.

You could literally create some awesome at home workouts by simply using exercises such as push ups, body squats, burpees and planks.

It’s that simple!

How Has My Life Improved Since Embracing My Baldness?

I never thought I’d see any sort of benefits when I started shaving my head, but there have been quite a few.

Below are just a few ways in which I feel I have benefitted from having a completely shaved head.

  • You are seen as more masculine by many
  • You end up saving a lot of time by not worrying about styling & cleaning your hair
  • No more money spent on magic shampoos that promise to bring back your hair
  • Summers are awesome
  • You’ll never stress about going bald again
  • It’s an opportunity to rebrand yourself
  • You won’t age. In 20 years you’ll look the same, thanks to no grey hairs

Conclusion

If you notice you are balding, then fear not.

It does not have to be all doom and gloom.

As I have stated above, there are actually many good things that can come from this.

It’s just up to how you want to handle it!
