1. Wake Up Earlier

The best way to be more productive is to become an early riser.

There’s a reason why most of the world’s successful people wake up before anyone else.

You allow yourself to get ahead, to achieve more and to get that perfect morning routine off to as good a start as possible.

Military guys always talk about getting up super early, and how it benefits you as a person.

Set yourself up for success by waking earlier. It’s so worth it!

2. Take Cold Showers

Once you have woken up before anyone else in your household, head over to the shower and treat yourself to a lovely cold shower!

I have gotten myself into the habit of doing this every single day.

Do I look forward to them?

Hell no!

I hate them.

But I feel so much better afterwards, and I have learn’t to deal with them through focussing on my breath.

Cold showers have so many benefits, such as an increase in your blood flow, a boosted immune system, stress reduction and more.

Make sure to start adding cold showers into your life.

They are awesome!

Obviously you shouldn’t start off with ice cold showers right away.

Ease your body into it, and within a month or so you should be comfortable with them.

3. Start A Fitness Routine

Starting a fitness routine is tough if you don’t have a proper one.

Most people just don’t know where to start, or even how to start.

Yes we can join a gym and try go a few times, but often one can feel lost without a bit of a plan!

Once you leave college and start your career, it becomes so easy to completely slip out of a healthy routine.

You go to work, you come home, or you go out for a few drinks.

And that’s how every week goes. Soon enough you have completely forgotten about keeping fit, and the longer this lasts the harder it’ll be to get back into.

Just remember, it’s never too late to get back into the fitness world!

Not only will you feel better physically, but exercise is also good for your mental health.

4. Greet People

Sounds weird, huh?

But try it out for a while and see how it makes you feel!

By greeting people you walk by, or simply just smiling and nodding, you’ll start to feel a lot more present and better about yourself.

Think about some people in your life who you have noticed do this on a daily basis? How do they come across as people?

5. Learn To Meditate

I always used to think that the only way one can practice meditation was to sit down with your hands on your legs in the classic Buddha pose whilst making a few “hmmmm-ing” sounds.

This, in actual fact, is far from the truth!

You can meditate at any time, any place.

Whilst waiting for an appointment, standing in line somewhere, or even sitting in your car.

There are many proven benefits that come from meditating, such as reduction in stress, improving your focus and your compassion, you’ll feel a lot better, and more!

6. Learn A New Language

As I am writing this, I am in the process of studying Italian.

It has been quite challenging, but rewarding at the same time.

Learning a new language requires you to kind of use a different part of your mind, and it’s a really cool break from all the other stuff you have going on.

For me, it’s like a break from work and life, and I get to enter a different type of environment.

Make sure you pick a language which you have interests in, and one which could benefit you in the future!

7. Get A New Hobby

How many hobbies do yu have that you really enjoy?

A lot of us get stuck in life real quickly, and then completely forget to spend time doing things which we really enjoy.

Luckily for us, there are a ton of hobbies out there which you can choose from.

If you aren’t sure which hobby to pick, I wrote a list of 50 hobbies for men just for you!

8. Improve Your Sleep

This is something which I need to work on personally too!

Even though many of us get in a lot of sleep hours, it might not always be the best quality sleep.

I do believe that you can easily oversleep, and I often find myself waking up a bit too late and feeling tired.

There’s no “one size fits all” approach to getting quality sleep, unfortunately.

Your age, how active you are and your lifestyle definitely have an effect on your sleep quality.

9. Read More Books

Not only is reading a good way to learn new things, but it’s also a great way of allowing your mind to escape all of its thoughts.

Reading books can take you into a whole new world, and it’s such a good mental breaker.

You don’t need to always read books that teach you something, either.

Personally I prefer reading novels where I can allow my mind to enter a new world.

Not sure what book to read? Check out our list of top 40 books for men!

10. Learn A New Skill

11. Do Something That Sucks Everyday

David Goggins always says that you got to do something shitty every single day.

In the long run, this will not only make you more resilient and tougher, but it will also improve you as a person overall.

It’s easy to get too comfortable, and to enjoy having nothing throw you off balance.

But if you make an effort to get out of your comfort zone and do something which you know you won’t enjoy, it’ll have a massive positive effect on you.

It can be something as small as exercising when you don’t want to, cleaning up when you not in the mood, etc.

12. Breathe, Motherf&@ker

For the past few months, I have been practicing Wim Hof’s breathing exercises. And I really enjoy them!

Wim Hof is a massive believer in using breathing and cold exposure to make your mind and body feel better.

Just remember that if you do try his breathing techniques to watch all of his safety videos first!

13. Spend Time Alone

You’ll be surprised how good spending time alone can be for you.

We get very used to always being around people. But when you decided to spend time just with yourself, you allow your mind to wander a bit more.

You also start to have a bit more dialogue with yourself!

Try it out, and see how it makes you feel.

I know I love doing it as much as possible.

14. Plan Out Your Day

Every night before going to bed, I write out what I want to get done tomorrow.

It can be little stuff, like spend 10 minutes with my thoughts, run 3 miles, do 300 push ups etc.

But I like making a list of things I want to get done with work, fitness and everything else.

Then as the day goes by, I tick off each item.

It’s a good feeling when the day ends and you have ticked off every single item on the list!

15. Start Cooking Healthier Meals

Try and enjoy a well balanced, wholesome meal at least once a day.

It’s not that difficult to make sure you cook and enjoy a really good meal one time a day.

Yes, it’s easy to run down and get a quick takeout, but enjoying cooking and eating at home is really good for you.

Not only is eating healthy foods good for you, but cooking and prepping food is a way to relax and take your mind off other things.

16. Spend Less Time With Negative People

Do you ever find yourself spending time with a few people, and you always feel shitty afterwards?

Some people just aren’t good for us.

They might be the one thing in life that’s actually holding you back from achieving more success.

It could be that they are just negative in general, that they don’t want you to try something new with your life, or they could be the ones who are always trying to pull you down.

Either way, it’s such a good feeling when you get rid of negative things in your life.

This way you can move forward and smash out any goals you have planned!

17. Get Inspired

Everyone these days loves preaching about how horrible every single social media platform is.

But there is also tons of positive content out there that we can use to our benefits.

Take Youtube, for example.

If you want to get inspired, you will.

Quickly.

Channels such as Tom Bilyeu or TED Talks are a good place to get started.

You can learn loads from watching and listening to this type of content.

18. Turn Your Phone Off For 2 Hours A Day

Try and turn your phone off for a while everyday.

It’s a good way to get rid of the distraction which it creates.

In this digital age, we do need all of our devices.

But it’s a good idea to take a break every once in a while.

19. Take Action

Sometimes the hardest thing for any of us to do is to take the plunge and take action.

It’s easy to overthink every single situation, what could go wrong, and how something won’t turn out perfect.

But at the end of the day you just got to take action!

Conclusion

What’s your best way to improve yourself?

These few items above are just based on my personal experience, so I am sure every single person reading this has a few unique ideas which really work!
